FERRITES
========
High µ ferrites are good wide band transformers: At the high freq. end the core
disappears (so to speak), whereas at the low frequency limit there is sufficient
self induction and thus Z at 5 to 10 twisted turns.
A 36 mm 4C65 and 3E25 toroid on top of each other with the cable
wound through the package a couple of turns forms an excellent EMI suppression.
Also very effective is the FERRITECLAMP, see below.
The 4C65 36 mm toroid is also popular for balun construction.
Please observe: the lower the µ factor, the higher F max will be.

Ferrite clamps
==============
A plastic casing that clicks around the EMI infested cable, in it 2 half
ferrite tubes. The new improved "block model" is effective to 500 MHz.
No more tedious removing of connectors!
Very thin cables are inserted in one or more loops.
Nice application: HF-sniffer (wind wire around 1 half), excellent for
tracing noise. (See Bouwboekje 4).
Wij supply only first grades brands such as Amidon.
FC-3 for cable to 5 mm 2.95
FC-6 for cable to 6.5 mm 2.95
FC-10 for cable to 10.5 mm 2.95

Because rods of 20 cm and longer are very expensive and suspect to damage
you can assemble from shorter ones by glueing together, maybe using a cardboard
tube slipped over the joint.
